It is cold, the streets are bleak and the days are short…well at least they are in my neck of the woods. I would love to make a slow cooked meal: if I had the time. I would love to curl up in bed and read a book: once again, if I had the time. I would love to sit and warm my feet in front of the fire: but we don’t have one!
So what do you do to cheer yourself up when you need a lift? I gave myself some flowers and some for a friend and a bunch for my eldest daughter too. I think all three of us are starting to feel the drag of winter and it is stomping on our usual cheer. I couldn’t go past these immensely cheery orange flowers that I hope will remind all three of us; the days will lengthen, the trees will return to green and we can strip off our winter woollens….soon. @
I light a scented candle, pick camelias from the garden to stow around the house, curl up in front of the fire with a blanket, good book and chocolate.
I cannot wait for longer days and sunshine to warm the top and toes. The appearance of my hyacinths tell me that Spring is coming! Hooray!
cheer up. winter = moss. moss rocks.
Awww….so lovely! Feeling cheerier already x
